Cardiac Camp, Chitwan

In coordination with the Chitwan Medical College, Jayanti Memorial Trust along with the team of MCVTC and the University of Colorado conducted a cardiac camp in Bagauda Health post in Madi, Chitwan, the Narayani Zone of southern Nepal. Madi is surrounded by a densely forested hill on the south, east and west; separated from the mainland of Chitwan by 2 rivers and thick forest of Chitwan National Park. Though Chitwan being considered as one of the developed districts in Nepal, the health facilities in Madi, 
Chitwan demonstrates the other the side of inaccessibility and modest health services.

 

During the first day at Chitwan, the team screened around 21 selected indigent cardiac patients in the Chitwan Medical College. On the second day, the team reached to Bagauda health post in Madi after an hour and half long drive from the main city of Chitwan, where the team screened patients for any cardiac ailments. The total number of patients registered during the camp was 425 where the patients were not only screened for a cardiac disease but were also screened for a general health check-up.
