Expanding Cardiac Unit at Western Regional Hospital

April 27th 2016

"Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have"- Winston Churchill

Earlier people from Pokhara and its periphery travelled all the way to kathmandu to get themselves treated. They would incur a lot of expense in travelling and acoomodation. Thus, realizing the need to expand and strengthen the cardiac unit at the Western Regional Hospital (WRH), JMT began working upon it.

Therefore, on 27th April, 2016 JMT donated 4 ICU Bedside Monitors and 1 Portable ECHO Machine to the WRH, Pokhara. The aforementioned machines were handed over to the hospital by our Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Shreejana Rana. The portable ECHO machine donated to the WRH will be used free of cost in screening and identifying early cases of cardiac ailments amongst children aged1- 15 yrs and treated accordingly.

We hope that this humble initiative of JMT will help these patients in saving their expense and time as well. The handing over ceremony was conducted in the presence of the Officials from the government bodies, Board Members of the Western Regional Hospital's Regional Board and Development Committee and our friends from the media houses.

In addition to this, JMT was graciously accepted by WRH who has allocated a space within its premises to operate JMT's Liaison Office. JMT hopes to further assist in reaching out to more needy cardiac patients requiring our aid through this office. JMT's work neither stops nor ends here. To sum it up JMT now has a base outside Kathmandu, which is Pokhara to expand its wings and embrace more ailing heart that needs nurturing.
