Continuing Medical Education

December 4th 2014

Heart disease is now quickly spreading across the globe with only one intention; taking lives. With this in mind, the Jayanti Memorial Trust for the past ten years have initiated an event “Continuing Medical Education” (C.M.E.) to bring in international and national doctors to discuss and analyze on the changing trends of management on major cardiovascular problems. Experts from the University of Colorado, led by Dr. Frederick Grover and Dr. David Fullerton (President of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons) will be readily available in this field to sort out and share their expertise on this subject with our national doctors. The Moderator of this event will be none other than our very own Dr. Bhagawan Koirala.

This one day event took place in Kathmandu on December 4th, 2014, on the premises of the Hotel Annapurna. The Jayanti Memorial Trust is partially coordinating and co-sponsoring with the Cardiac Society of Nepal for this event. Both organizations share a common goal that is preventing and spreading awareness of all forms of heart disease.
The following experts and their topics were:

Dr. Robert Quaife- “Assessment of Mitral and Aortic Valve Disease in Preparation for Percutaneous Interventions”
Dr. David Fullerton- “Tran catheter Aortic Valve Replacement”
Dr. Frederick Grover- “Durability of Tissue Valves”
Dr. David Campbell- “Congenital Vascular Rings, Slings and Other Things”
